Buffer launches official Mac app to let you share updates right from the OS X menu bar
July 18, 2014
The popular social network management and sharing tool Buffer has just released its official app for OS X on the Mac App Store.
As expected, Buffer for Mac offers an easy way to automatically schedule and share posts and updates to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and App.net. And it does so right from the OS X menu bar. According to the app's Mac App Store description:
Any link, text, picture or video you want to share, just add it to your Buffer. Your updates will automatically be scheduled and spaced out throughout the day to post to your favorite social networks. Plus, any update can also be “posted now” inside the app.Buffer for Mac also provides analytics for each shared social media update, including clicks, retweets, likes, shares, mentions, and more. In addition, it lets you add updates to your Buffer queue from a variety of apps or through email. Compatible with OS X 10.9 or later, Buffer is available now on the Mac App Store for free. Buffer offers its so-called Awesome Plan for $10 per month, allowing you to add up to 12 social media accounts and to schedule unlimited updates in your queue. A month ago, Buffer updated its official app for iOS with a new design and support for feeds and sharing to multiple accounts. Aside from its namesake apps on iOS and Mac, Buffer offers Daily by Buffer for iOS, which it touts as "Tinder for content sharing" as the app presents articles that you can swipe right to like or left to skip.
