Cydia tweak: EqualizerEverywhere adds a smart equalizer to Apple's iOS

July 26, 2014

EqualizerEverywhere is a smart, new jailbreak tweak that music lovers will really appreciate.

The package, which is priced at $3.00, adds a fully-featured equalizer to Apple’s iOS. This equalizer can be accessed right from Control Center, and it allows users to precisely adjust music playback in any iOS application.

As such, jailbreakers can use EqualizerEverywhere not only in the built-in Music application, but also in Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, or any other music app you have running on your iPhone.

Individual levels can be adjusted using sliders in Control Center, however users can also access presets from Control Center, too, and preconfigured options including Reggae, Club, and Pop (among others) feature in the package.

In the Settings app, users can create their own presets, too. There’s also a kill-switch here for users to activate or deactive. EqualizerEverywhere definitely looks like an impressive package, though as iDownloadBlog reports, it’s not perfect:

Although the tweak worked fairly well from my testing, I must say that I did run into an issue when streaming audio via HTML5 audio tags in a browser. HTML5 audio simply would not play with EqualizerEverywhere installed. I never encountered a problem elsewhere in my testing, but this is something that you should be aware of, especially if you often enjoy listening to HTML5 audio streams via the browser.

You can pick up EqualizerEverywhere for $3.00 on the Cydia Store. This might be higher than the average price of jailbreak tweaks, but the nature of the package warrants this – even with the aforementioned HTML5 bug in mind.
