FXNOW, featuring Simpsons World, will arrive on the Apple TV in the next year

July 22, 2014
Cowbunga! First reported by iLounge, TV writer Jason Lynch tweeted yesterday that the FXNOW on-demand video service will arrive on the Apple TV and other streaming devices like Roku “in the next 12 months.” Part of the channel will include the upcoming Simpsons World, which will offer viewers all 522 episodes of “The Simpsons” and other extra content. Content from FX, FXX, and FXM can currently be accessed via the FXNOW app, which can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. The app is universal for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. Like other similar apps, users will need to sign in with TV provider credentials. The app currently supports AT&T U-verse, Comcast XFINITY, Midcontinent Communications, Optimum, Suddenlink, and WOW! Simpsons World will officially launch in October as part of the FXNOW app. The iOS app doesn’t feature AirPlay support, so hopefully the Apple TV channel will appear sooner rather than later. If you need a Simpsons fix on your iOS device now, The Simpsons: Tapped Out can be downloaded now for free. The universal app tasks gamers with rebuilding Springfield after Homer accidentally destroyed the city in a meltdown.
