Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft expansion, Curse of Naxxramas, arrives on Tuesday

July 17, 2014
It’s time to dust off your card collection and get ready for a new Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft adventure. After releasing more information about the Curse of Naxxramas earlier this month, Blizzard has just announced that the expansion pack will be available starting on Tuesday, July 22. My colleague Aldrin Calimlim explains a little more about the extra content and pricing structure:
Curse of Naxxramas is set in the titular floating necropolis. Home to a host of undead bosses, Naxxramas comprises five wings that are scheduled to open one wing at a time each week, in the following order: Arachnid Quarter, Plague Quarter, Military Quarter, Construct Quarter, and Frostwyrm Lair. The first wing, the Arachnid Quarter, may be accessed for free during the month-long launch event for Curse of Naxxramas. Beyond the Arachnid Quarter, the next four wings may be purchased for 700 in-game gold or $6.99 worth of real money per wing.
Thankfully, Blizzard will offer bundle pricing for the different wings. The expansion pack will also be live for the Windows and Mac version of the game next week. Designed for the iPad/iPad mini, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. The game originally arrived back in April. Our own Christine Chan was very positive about the title in her original review. It was also named as our AppAdvice Game of the Week shortly after its release.
