LinkedIn has just updated its flagship iOS app with significant enhancements to profiles. With its redesigned profiles on mobile, LinkedIn seeks to "help you showcase your story for more opportunities." On iPhone, you can easily edit your profile thanks to the new guided editing flow and see your favorite schools' pages right within the app. On iPad, you can see other LinkedIn users' interests and the companies, influencers, and news that they follow. Most notably, on both iPhone and iPad editions of LinkedIn, you can check out who's viewed your profile and what you have in common with others, which could come in handy as conversation starters and icebreakers during meetings. As noted by LinkedIn in a new blog post:
Your LinkedIn Profile is your professional identity of record. It’s also the heart of LinkedIn. Your new profile helps you tell your story to other professionals when they’re looking for you on the go. If you aren’t a master storyteller, we’ll let you know what’s missing and how you can add it. You’ll also enjoy discovering new insights about other professionals with the “in common” and endorsements sections we added. They’re great ice breakers you can use when you meet someone for the first time, so you can talk about something other than the weather.Check out the new LinkedIn profiles on iOS in this slide show: If you can't see the slide show embedded above, please click here. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, LinkedIn is available on the App Store for free. Earlier this month, LinkedIn updated its Contacts app with a new name, LinkedIn Connected, and new features. And last month, it launched a new app called LinkedIn Job Search to help users with their job hunting.
