Much-Requested Offline Mode Swings Into Gameloft's The Amazing Spider-Man 2
July 9, 2014
Making good on its announcement last week, Gameloft has updated The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with an offline mode.
Indeed, the official mobile game of the Marvel movie sequel of the same name featuring the eponymous web-slinging hero now offers a much-requested offline mode. "Thanks to your highly appreciated feedback, you can now play the game offline!" Gameloft says. "Battle Spidey’s toughest enemies and swing throughout Manhattan virtually anywhere!"
Note, though, that only the game's story mode is fully playable without an Internet connection. An Internet connection is still required for Mysterio's Arena, social gameplay, and access to in-app purchases since, as previously noted by a Gameloft representative, "this plays into the concern for piracy and the commitment to provide a fair competitive gameplay experience (regarding events/leaderboards)."

The new version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also features boss skills, more enemy types, an improved Mysterio's Arena, and a new Future Foundation Spider-Man suit. It also includes some bug fixes.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, the new version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is available now on the App Store as a free update or as a new $4.99 download.
