Netflix for the Apple TV has just been updated with a long-awaited feature. The next episode of a TV series will now automatically begin to play after finishing the previous installment.
That’s very similar to what users can do on the streaming video’s service iOS app and site.
Before the update, it would take several clicks of the remote to begin the next episode. But now the process is seamless and will make binge-watching a series like “House of Cards” or “Orange is the New Black” even easier.
And according to iDownloadblog, there are also some other minor changes in the update. Along with a tweaked progress bar, a small window with a content thumbnail shows up at the start of each video.
The Netflix iOS app is universal for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Access to the service, for new users, is $8.99 per month.
Earlier this month, a study from Parks Associates showed that the Apple TV lags behind the media player line from Roku. According to the data, 44 percent of U.S. broadband households used a Roku while 26 percent have an Apple TV.
