Amazon's Audible audiobooks app for iOS updated with new design and new features
Audiobooks from Audible, the official iOS app of the eponymous audiobook company owned by Amazon, has just undergone a major redesign through its latest update.
Indeed, the new update brings about the app’s long overdue interface refresh for iOS 7 … or perhaps it’s for iOS 8, now?
Anyway, the Audible app is now simple, cleaner, and, of course, flatter with a new layout that is “brighter” and “more modern,” as the Audible team puts it.
The app’s new design notably features a 30-second forward button to complement the existing 30-second rewind button in the player screen. It also boasts an improved search function that lets you see more information about audiobooks and a new Discover tab that lets you listen to audiobook samples and save titles for later.
Audible is integrated into Kindle for iOS, allowing you to listen to the Audible audiobooks of certain titles right from the Kindle app if you own both the Kindle and Audible versions of those titles. Audible integration is also a main selling point of Amazon’s e-book subscription service, Kindle Unlimited.
