Apple is encouraging first time App Store visitors to download the Beats Music app
A popup showing Apple’s own suite of free apps welcomes new App Store visitors on iOS devices. That list has recently been updated to include the Beats Music app, according to 9to5Mac.
As you can see on the screenshot above, the Beats Music app is currently the last one listed under "Apple Apps." It includes the words “Listen to music that’s always right for you.” The inclusion of the app comes just days after the completion of Apple’s $3 billion acquisition of Beats Music and Beats Electronics.
Naturally, Apple hopes the addition of Beats Music to the list will increase adoption of the streaming service. Interestingly enough, other than GarageBand's in-app purchases, Beats Music is the only freemium app on the list. New users can test the Beats Music service free for 14 days. Thereafter, the service is $9.99 per month. The Beats Music app only shows on the popup on new iOS 7 installations, not in iOS 8 beta 5. Additionally, the app is currently missing from the "Apps Made by Apple" list in iTunes. That will probably change on both points very soon.
You can download the app on the App Store.
