SNK Playmore's The Rhythm of Fighters updated with new tracks and new features

August 3, 2014
SNK Playmore has just added more tracks, along with more features, to The Rhythm of Fighters for iOS. The Rhythm of Fighters is a rhythm-based fighting game that features fan-favorite tracks from SNK’s traditional game series, including The King of Fighters (KOF), Samurai Showdown, and Metal Slug. It also presents new versions of classics arranged especially for the game by their original composers. Released last June, The Rhythm of Fighters got its first major update in July, thereby gaining new tracks through the Fatal Fury Special pack plus four new rankings in Free mode. Now, the game has received another major update that adds more tracks to fight to. There are eight new tracks in total, four from the new The King of Fighters '97 pack and the other four from the Metal Slug Defense pack. Each set of four tracks may be unlocked via a $2.99 in-app purchase. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Aside from the new tracks, the latest update to The Rhythm of Fighters adds: a new option to change the shape of the in-game hit confirmation line (elliptical or circular), a selection of seven types of display timing on the in-game hit confirmation line, and new hit sound settings in Free mode and Arcade mode. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, The Rhythm of Fighters is available on the App Store for $0.99. Last week, SNK released the iOS edition of The King of Fighters '98. Touted as the "masterpiece" in SNK’s KOF series, KOF ’98 is a special edition of the franchise that features most of the characters from its predecessors, from KOF ’94 to KOF ’97.
