Google Play Movies & TV for iOS now lets you download videos for offline viewing

September 9, 2014

Google Play Movies & TV for iOS has just been updated with a significant new feature: offline viewing.

Released last January, Google Play Movies & TV syncs with your Google Play account to enable you to watch movies and TV shows right on your iOS device or on your smart TV via Chromecast. Note, though, that video streaming currently works over Wi-Fi only.

Also a Wi-Fi-only affair is video downloading for offline viewing, which has just been added to Google Play Movies & TV through its latest update. This new feature enables you to download movies and TV shows so that you can watch them anytime and anywhere even without an Internet connection.

The new version of Google Play Movies & TV also includes accessibility enhancements, stability improvements, and bug fixes

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Google Play Movies & TV is available on the App Store for free.

Last month, Google Play Music, the official iOS app of Google’s music streaming service, was updated with music deletion and other improvements.

Google Play Books, Google’s e-reading service, is also available for iOS. But its app hasn’t seen a major update since its update in December last year, which added support for OCR-based searching.
