Joan Rivers returns from the grave to promote the iPhone 6 on launch day
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch today is getting a lot of consumers excited – even dead people.
Joan Rivers, who passed away almost two weeks ago at the age of 81, took to both her Instagram and Facebook page to promote the new handsets. Here’s the complete post:
“This badass is being replaced by an iPhone 6 (not the fat one). I got this one in 2010 and, after 4 years, my only complaint is that apps are now designed for bigger screens, and the battery is getting tired. Never had a case for it, since it was most beautiful on its own. Great achievement in design. Great product. #apple #iPhone #tech.”
To no one’s surprise, both posts were almost immediately pulled, but TMZ was able to grab the pictured screenshot of the Instagram post.
Some poor social media intern will soon be looking for a new job, I suspect.
After record preorders for both handsets, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have both launched in a number of countries. At least judging from the massive crowds at Apple Stores, it’s likely to be a record setting weekend.
Apple expects the iPhone models to be available in 115 countries by the end of 2014.
