This week in accessories: Surface Case from Seidio, Crayola iMarker and more

September 26, 2014

Welcome back! After focusing only on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 cases the last two editions, it’s back to normal this week. But don’t worry, along with other iOS device accessories, we’re featuring three protection options for Apple’s latest handsets.

Surface Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from Seidio

A thin case offering a soft-touch finish, the Surface from Seidio can now be ordered for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. A built-in metal kickstand can place the handset into a great media viewing angle. The case is available in eight different color options and retails for $34.95 for either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus edition. A combo package that includes a belt holster is $54.95.

Crayola iMarker from Griffin Technology

The new Crayola iMarker stylus from Griffin Technology acts like a marker, crayon, pen, and paintbrush in one to give kids a perfect way to be artistic on an iPad. Designed to be used by little hands, the pointer and eraser can easily be used with an iPad display. No pairing or connection is needed, and the power saving feature will turn the stylus off automatically after three minutes of no use. It works with a wide variety of Crayola apps available in the App store, including Crayola Paint & Create HD, Crayola ColorStudio HD, and more.

It costs $29.99 and can be ordered now from Griffin.

Smart Selfie Extension Arm Monopod from Satechi

Yesterday’s monopod is today’s selfie assistant. The Smart Selfie Extension Arm Monopod from Satechi can even fit the 5.5-inch screen of the iPhone 6 Plus. An adjustable ball joint can provide 360-degree rotation of the handset along with other tilting angles. Thanks to built-in Bluetooth capability, users only need to pair it with their phone to capture a photo directly from the monopod. It weighs 5.6 ounces and is 9.6 inches long when folded.

Available now from Amazon.com or Satechi’s site, the monopod is $39.99.

CalypsoCase Book for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Made with premium Italian leather, the CalypsoCase Book is available for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The case can be ordered from CalypsoCase’s site now for $149. Only 500 cases of each design are ever made. Adding another layer of personalization, each case is also individually numbered.

9×9 Smart Cloth from Toddy Gear

Just in time to help keep that shiny, new iPhone 6 looking perfect, Toddy Gear has introduced a larger version of its popular microfiber cleaning cloth. Along with iOS devices, the 9×9 can be used to clean pretty much any other electronics. An anti-microbial coating helps prevent mold and mildew on the cloth. Buyers can select from one of 15 different designs on Toddy Gear’s site now for $14.99.

Belkin WeMo Smart LED Bulb Starter Kit

Belkin is jumping into the smart lighting arena with its new WeMo Smart LED Bulb Starter Kit. Just like other home automation products from the company, the bulbs can be controlled from anywhere with the companion WeMo app. Coming with two bulbs and a WeMo Link, users can install up to 50 bulbs on a network. The bulbs offer a warm bright light similar to a 60-watt incandescent bulb. With three hours of use per day, the bulbs have a lifespan of 23 years.

The starter kit retails for $99.99 and can be purchased from a number of retailers, including Belkin’s site. Additional bulbs are $39.99 each.

Logitech Harmony Living Home

Well-known for its line of powerful remote controls, Logitech is jumping into the smart home market with the new Harmony Living Home line. Users can control a number of popular smart devices like the Nest Learning Thermostat, Philips Hue lighting, and many more. The Ultimate Home package, which costs $349.99, offers a remote control with a 2.4-inch color touch screen and the home hub device. A package with a simple remote is $149.99. If you want to use the entire system with just your iOS device, the hub can be purchased separately for $99.99.

All three can be ordered now from Logitech’s site. A Hub Extender, which will add ZigBee and Z-Wave compatibility to the system, will retail for $129.99 and hit the market later this year.

Hex Icon Wallet for the iPhone 6

Another high-quality case option for the iPhone 6, the Icon Wallet from Hex offers a genuine leather exterior. When the wallet is closed, an elastic strap helps protect your phone. Three card slots can hold credit cards, cash, or an ID. Buyers can select from a brown, black, or camo leather version of the case. It retails for $49.99 and can be ordered now directly from Hex’s site.

Hue Stick from JunoPower

Packing a 2,600 mAH battery, the JunoPower Hue Stick also doubles as an LED flashlight. Weighing just 6 ounces, the battery can charge a completely dead device in around two to three hours. Available in just black, the battery can be purchased now for $19.99 from Amazon.com.

Charging Stand for Apple Watch from DODOCase

And to end today, we’re featuring the first accessory for the Apple Watch. Yep, the same Apple Watch that won’t be released until early 2015. DODOCase has already announced this beautiful charging stand made with California Orchard Walnut wood. Users will able to place their charging cord into the stand. A suction cup on the bottom helps keep the stand in one place.

It will hit the market whenever the first Apple wearable arrives, and will retail from $60 to $80. There will also be an optional leather monogram option. You can reserve yours by placing a $5 deposit on DODOCase’s site now.
