MixBit video-sharing app updated with significant new features

October 8, 2014

MixBit, the video-sharing app developed by YouTube cofounders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, has just received another major update.

Released and subsequently hailed as an AppAdvice App of the Week in August last year, MixBit has had some notable updates.

But its latest update is particularly notable for its introduction of a handful of significant new features.

For starters, the update lets you add photos to your MixBit videos. “Pick a theme, preview the content and let us add the magic,” the MixBit team suggests. It also lets you add your own music or audio track to videos.

The new version of MixBit also boasts several enhancements to its video-capturing function. These include face detection, video image stabilization, and native camera features like time lapse and slow motion.

The new MixBit update also brings new themes and photo effects plus general enhancements and bug fixes.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, MixBit is available on the App Store for free.
