This week in accessories: Doxie Go Wi-Fi, LifePocket SL for the iPhone 6 and more
Welcome back, and happy Black Friday! Here’s our look at some of the latest iOS accessories to hit the market. If you’re interested, we also started our Holiday Gift Guide series earlier today with a look at some perfect ideas for iPhone owners.
Doxie Go Wi-Fi
Doxie has just introduced a new model in its popular line of portable and wireless scanners. The Doxie Go Wi-Fi can scan up to 600 dpi in full color. And with built-in Wi-Fi, the device can send scanned images directly to your Mac or PC and a number of other cloud services like Dropbox, OneNote, and Evernote. You can also organize and share images with the new Doxie iOS app.
The Doxie Go Wi-Fi retails for $229 and can be ordered now from Doxie’s site. Orders placed now will ship in mid-December with guaranteed Christmas delivery.
LifePocket SL for the iPhone 6 from SwitchEasy
A full folio case for the iPhone 6, the SwitchEasy’s LifePocket SL features the company’s FlipCash design that provides easy access to both cash and up to six credit cards. The built-in kickstand can place your handset into a nice media viewing angle.
Available in black, blue, orange, pink, and yellow, the case costs $34.99 and can be preordered now on SwitchEasy’s site.
Satechi 10 Port USB 3.0 Premium Aluminum Hub
With my many iOS devices, I always need a free USB port to charge and sync with my Mac. And Satechi has a nice new option with its 10 Port USB 3.0 Premium Aluminum Hub. Seven ports can be used to sync your devices with a Mac or PC while the remaining three can be used to charge an iPhone or iPad quickly and efficiently. It’s even backwards compatible with USB 2.0/1.1 devices.
The hub can be purchased now for $59.99 from Amazon.com or Satechi’s site.
Soundcap Beanie from 808 Audio
With the weather getting colder, at least here in the United States, 808 Audio’s new Soundcap Beanie helps keep your head warm while listening to music with the built-in headphones. After plugging the 3.5-inch jack into your device, you can control the tracks and volume and even take phone calls with the in-line microphone.
The Beanie retails for $19.99 and can be ordered directly from the company’s site.
Rapoo A500
Featuring Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the new Rapoo A500 speaker provides 360-degrees of sound coverage. Along with a microphone that allows users to take phone calls through the speaker, it can be used in both wired and wireless mode at the same time.
While the black speaker is $79.99, you can snag the blue and white version of the speaker for $47.89 at Walmart.com.
Tagg GPS Plus Pet Tracker
Tagg has just unveiled the second-generation of its GPS-enabled pet tracker. If your pet is ever lost, use the companion iOS device to track down a dog or cat’s exact location and bring them home safely. Along with that protection, it doubles as an activity tracker and even provides ambient temperature readings.
It can be preordered from Tagg now for $79.99. Each order comes with two free months of the tracking service. Users will have to pay $9.99 per month for the service after that. Orders are expected to ship early next year.
I reviewed the first-generation tracker back in 2012, and enjoyed the overall service, even with the monthly subscription fee.
