Twitter now lets you privately share and discuss tweets via direct message
As it announced last week, Twitter has rolled out a neat enhancement that allows for the native and private sharing and discussion of tweets right within its direct messaging functionality.
Through a backend update to its mobile and desktop apps, Twitter now lets you quickly and easily share tweets privately with any of your followers via direct message.
To do so on the Twitter app for iOS or Android, just long-press on a tweet in your timeline and select the new “Share via Direct Message” option, as demoed below. On Twitter.com and TweetDeck, tap the “More” icon and choose the same option. You can then choose a recipient with whom to share the tweet and add a comment before sharing it via direct message.
Aside from this new feature, Twitter has promised to deliver more improvements to its popular social networking service, including native video sharing and personalized timelines.
Just a couple of days ago, Twitter announced that every public tweet since its launch in 2006 is now being indexed so as to be easily searchable, especially using advanced search operators.
