Twitter's Vine now lets you get notified of new videos posted by your favorite Viners

November 26, 2014

Vine, the popular video-sharing app developed by Twitter, has just been updated with a new feature that benefits creators and consumers alike.

“We all have accounts that we love to follow and whose Vines we don’t like to miss,” the Vine team notes in a new blog post. “Now, you can select your favorite accounts to be sure you see Vines from them.”

Just tap the star in the top right corner of a profile in the Vine app to make the corresponding user a favorite. Thereafter, you get a push notification and an Activity feed alert every time the user posts a new Vine video. You can view all of your favorites and adjust your notifications in the app’s settings section.

Vine’s new “favorite” feature ensures that you don’t miss any new content from your favorite Viners. As well, it lets Viners rest assured that their new videos have better chances of being viewed by their fans.

Twitter offers a similar feature in its official iOS app that lets users enable notifications for new tweets from their favorite accounts.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, Vine is available on the App Store for free.

The new version of Vine also includes some performance enhancements.

Vine was updated just over a month ago with iPhone 6 support, a share extension, and an easier way to follow specific channels.
