Apple has just released iOS 8.1.2 to the public. The new software, along with general bugfixes, solves a problem where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store may have been removed from an iOS device. To restore those ringtones, visit itunes.com/restore-tones from an iOS device.
The update can be downloaded on your iOS device by going to Settings, General, Software Update. It is also available through iTunes.
Before today’s update, Apple released iOS 8.1.1 in mid-November. That software offered stability and performance improvements for the aging iPhone 4s and iPad 2.
We’ll let you know if we find any other changes in iOS 8.1.2.
