Disney introduces new free-to-play system with Club Penguin Puffle Wild for iOS

December 7, 2014

Disney has just released Club Penguin Puffle Wild on iOS. And with the new game, the entertainment giant has introduced a new free-to-play system.

Based on Disney’s wildly popular Club Penguin virtual world for kids, Club Penguin Puffle Wild is a match-three puzzle game that challenges you to conquer the wilds with powerful creatures called puffles.

Apparently in extended response to the backlash it received with its alleged pay-to-win approach in Where’s My Water? 2, Disney has come up with a friendlier free-to-play model in Club Penguin Puffle Wild.

As noted by PocketGamer.biz, the new system is tied with Club Penguin subscriptions, enabling Club Penguin subscribers, who pay $6 per month, to have full access to the game.

But if you’re a non-subscriber and you don’t want to pay, you can still enjoy the game by playing just over 60 levels with the help of a blue puffle.

But if you’re a non-subscriber and you don’t mind paying, you can take advantage of in-app purchases to unlock 13 bonus levels, be able to collect puffles, and take the creatures to the Club Penguin app.

Club Penguin Puffle Wild is free to download on the App Store for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

The endless runner Club Penguin Sled Racer is also available on the App Store as a free universal download.
