Google for iOS features a new design and is optimized for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Google for iOS, formerly known as Google Search, has just been updated to version 5.0 with a number of enhancements.
Along with being optimized for the higher-resolution screens of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the app now also offers the material design found in other Google apps.
Users should also enjoy some of the other new features like the ability to see and return to recently visited pages. With the new Google button, you can start a search with a single tap.
Also, iPhone users can explore interactive maps, nearby places, and Street View directly inside the app. Finally, image search results will now show larger photos.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Google can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
Before today’s improvements, the last major update arrived in May with version 4.0. That edition allowed users to have a smarter voice conversation with Google Now and more.
