This week in accessories: Seidio Obex waterproof case for the iPhone 6 and more

December 5, 2014

Happy Friday, and welcome back to our weekly look at some of the latest accessories to hit the market. In this edition, we’re featuring a holiday-themed iPhone 5s/5 case and much more.

Seidio Obex for the iPhone 6

More waterproof cases for the iPhone 6 are beginning to arrive on the market. The latest is Seidio’s Obex. Along with providing complete protection against water, the case is designed to ward off impacts and dust. It also features a built-in screen protector.

The Obex can be purchased now from Seidio’s site for $79.95. A combo pack with a holster is $10 more. Black and white versions of the case are now available with pink and yellow versions expected soon.

Holiday CandyShell for the iPhone 5s/5 from Speck

If you’re still using an iPhone 5s/5, Speck has just introduced a fun way to get in the spirit of the season with a line of holiday-themed CandyShell cases. Just like with the regular version of the case, your handset is protected by two layers of material – a hard exterior shell and a softer inner layer with reinforced corner support. A raised bezel protects the screen while placing the handset face down.

Available in a red, blue, or purple color featuring fun holiday themes, it can be purchased now from Speck’s site for $39.95.

Sneaker Power Bank from XSORIES

Sporting a 9,000 mAH backup battery, the Sneaker Power Bank is covered with rubber material similar to what is found on the bottom of your shoes. It also comes with an interesting combo cord that allows users to charge both a micro-USB device and an older Apple device with a 30-pin port at the same time.

The power bank retails for $79.99 and can be ordered now at

Smartphone Projector from Photojojo

Another fun iPhone accessory from Photojojo, the Smartphone Projector looks to be a perfect stocking stuffer for this holiday season. Made with screen-printed cardboard and featuring a glass lens, you’ll put together the projector quickly and easily. It can hold any iPhone except the larger iPhone 6 Plus. A silicon grip pad holds the handset securely. No cords or batteries are needed, and images from your phone are magnified 8x on a wall.

You can snag the projector from Photojojo’s site now for $27.
