Apple introduces improvements for iCloud.com Photos and Apple Maps Connect
Apple has just rolled out several notable improvements for a couple of its Web-based services, iCloud.com Photos and Apple Maps Connect.
As reported by iFun, the Photos app on the official website of iCloud has gained support for image zooming and email sharing.
In its single-image view, the Photos Web app has a new slider that lets you zoom a photo to up to 400 percent of its original size. As you adjust the slider, the corresponding zoom level is instantly shown. This lets you easily see and inspect an image in greater detail, just as you do in the Photos app on iOS when pinching to zoom a photo.
Also in the single-image view, there’s a new envelope icon that represents the Photos Web app’s new email sharing capability, allowing you to send a photo via iCloud Mail right from the app instead of downloading it first and attaching it to an email in another app.
The envelope icon also appears when you select at least one image in the Photos Web app’s gallery view, enabling you to email as many photos as you can so long as your message doesn’t run afoul of iCloud Mail’s 20MB per message limit. In comparison, the Photos app on iOS allows emailing up to five images only at a time.
As for Apple Maps Connect, it has been expanded beyond its initial U.S. coverage. According to a report by 9to5Mac, the Web tool now supports the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Singapore, in addition to the U.S. Launched three months ago, Apple Maps Connect allows users to manage their Apple Maps business profiles.
