CNNgo is the latest channel added to the Apple TV lineup

The Apple TV has added CNNgo as its fourth new channel in the last two days. Just yesterday, viewers received a trio of new apps from TED, Tastemade, and Young Hollywood.

With CNNgo, users can watch the news channel live as well as view other on-demand content. Unfortunately, watching the live station does require that you log-in with credentials from a cable provider. That’s similar to the restrictions found on the free CNN app for the iPad.

Earlier this month, at the special Apple Watch media event, Apple announced some big changes to the Apple TV. Along with cutting the price of the current-generation device to $69, the HBO Now service will launch exclusively on the Apple TV sometime in April. A subscription will cost $14.99 per month.

A recent report said the next-generation Apple TV will launch in June at WWDC. The new device could feature a faster A8 chip, Siri support, and a true App Store. Apple is also rumored to launch a streaming TV service this fall with content from ABC, CBS, Fox, and other networks.
