NimbleBit’s upcoming game Capitals will bring a hexagonal twist to the usual word game
It’s all about the word play for NimbleBit. The popular developer behind well-known titles like Tiny Tower, Pocket Planes, Golfinity, and more has just announced that its latest game – Capitals – will be arriving soon on the App Store.
TouchArcade was able to play a beta version of Capitals. The site described it as similar to Letterpress, being a multiplayer word game with Game Center support that happens to take place on a hex grid:
However, there’s an interesting strategic component to it with the capitals that makes it not just about forming big words, but where the tiles on the board actually are.
No release date is available for Capitals, but we’ll definitely keep you up to date if we hear any more information. It definitely sounds like a challenge.
As you probably remember, NimbleBit is also developing another word game – Letterpad. Originally announced back in January, the game will feature support for the upcoming Apple Watch.
In that game, players receive a grid of nine letters and make words related to a specific topic, which should add a fun degree of difficulty.
There’s still no word on when Letterpad will arrive, but hopefully it will land before the Apple Watch hits the market in late April.
If you’re looking for a fun game from the developer available now, I definitely recommend Disco Zoo. The casual puzzle game is a big hit in my house, and I enjoy playing it with my kids. And it has disco-dancing animals, what could be better?
