Stuck with your Apple Watch configuration? This flowchart can help

That iThingy You're Wearing
March 11, 2015

Deciding that you’re actually going to pick up an Apple Watch this April might seem like a big decision, but actually it’ll be the first of many. For those of us who’re planning on purchasing Apple’s new wearable, a plethora of questions concerning the model, the size, and the band configurations indeed await. Now, however, a fun flowchart from The Joy of Tech is here to poke a little fun at Apple Watch fans taking this decision a little too seriously.

Called “ Watch selection flowchart,” the new graphic (embedded below) playfully guides prospective Apple Watch owners through their impending decision-making process. Choices such as 38 mm or 42 mm, case material, and preferred glass are outlined. And of course, this is all before Apple Watch owners decide on their chosen strap – let alone their preferred watch faces. Goodness!

Take a look:

Which Apple Watch configuration is for you?

Indeed, there’s a lot to figure out before Apple fans place their preorders on April 10. To help you with sizes, at least, Cupertino’s Apple Store iOS app lets users check on the “actual size” of the 38 mm and 42 mm Watch cases. You can even place your iPhone atop your wrist to see how each case fits.

For Apple Store frequenters, on the other hand, the chance of trying on a Watch ahead of launch day, on April 24, will be offered. We’ve also heard that a new Reserve and Pickup system for the smartwatch will launch, allowing prospective owners to try on the Apple Watch in-store before paying its full retail price.

All of this, we hope, should keep your Apple Watch-obsessed head from exploding.
