A big Vainglory update brings a skin system, collectible cards and more
Skins are making their way to the extremely fun and beautiful MOBA game Vainglory.
Interestingly, the skin system will be card-based – unlike other MOBAs. Cards will appear in the “Spoils of War” section when players finish a game. Those cards can be used to then unlock the skins.
Version 1.4 of the app includes tier one skins for six heroes – Dark Parade Adagio, Prehistoric Glaive, Raver Girl Koshka, Bug Petal, Shogun Ringo, and SAWborg. Future updates will bring second and third skin tiers with more collectible cards and skin themes. Eventually, every hero in the game will have their own set.
There will be four different levels of cards. Common and rare cards are in the new update while epic and legendary cards will be available in the future.
Here’s a quick video that explains the new skins system and cards. Click here if you can’t see it.

There are two separate versions of the app available to download on the App Store – Vainglory for iPhone and the tablet-optimized Vainglory for the iPad/iPad mini. Both apps are free, but as usual with this type of app, there are a number of in-app purchases available.
While I’m far from the usual MOBA gamer, I’ve really enjoyed playing Vainglory. And I’m thrilled to see Super Evil Mega Corp. continuing to improve the gameplay. Definitely check it out for the fun action and beautiful graphics. It’s easily one of the most visually appealing games I’ve ever played on my iPhone 6 Plus.
