Just in time for summer grilling season, iDevices has updated its companion app for the line of iGrill and Kitchen Thermometer products.

Version 1.7.1 of the app brings support for the Apple Watch. Now, watch wearers can monitor the real-time temperature of what’s cooking, set temperature alarm presets, and receive notifications when their food is ready to go.

And here’s an interactive look at the iDevices Connected app courtesy of our sister site WatchAware. Click here if you can’t see it.

If you’re interested in other Apple Watch apps, the site features previews for each of the more than 4,000 titles available to download.

The iDevices Connected app is universal and designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

I’ve enjoyed using my original version of the iGrill, and can’t wait to try out the Apple Watch app during my next barbecue. The most inexpensive version in the thermometer line is the iGrill mini, which can be purchased now from Amazon.com for $36.48.

Along with the thermometer line, iDevices announced at CES a new HomeKit-certified device slated to arrive sometime this year. The Switch brings a number of smart features to a power outlet, and users can even control the device with Siri. No retail price has been announced, but you can find out more about the Switch here.
