At long last, eBay for Apple Watch launches on the App Store

Back in April, the boxing gloves came out between Apple and eBay when Cupertino quietly removed the online auctioneer’s Apple Watch application from its list of featured Watch apps. Now, however, it seems the two companies are friends once more.

This is because eBay for Apple Watch has been approved and is available to download on the App Store free of charge, from inside the iOS application. The application, on Apple’s smart watch, allows users to receive alerts on items they’re interested in purchasing, making it easier than ever to never get caught out by a last-minute outbit again.

There are four main sections in the Watch app: Activity, Buying, Watching, Selling. The first provides Apple Watch owners with at-a-glance information on items they’re bidding on which are ending soon, items which are soon to ship, and more. The Buying, Watching, and Selling interfaces provide information on each aspect of eBay’s online experience, meaning you’ll no longer need your iPhone, iPad, or desktop to check on your account.

It seems that sellers can use the application to promptly respond to questions, and buyers also have the option of placing bids on the Watch app, too. If you’re a big eBay user, you’re going to want eBay on your wrist – and as of today, the Apple Watch can put it there.

In a recent article, TechCrunch added:

The eBay Apple Watch app has been in internal testing since Apple Watch’s hardware became available, and the company says that it has been working to combat some of the “lagginess” these early Watch apps seem to encounter by optimizing its own app for better performance. (We did not have a pre-release version of eBay’s app to test these claims, however.)

Of course, this kind of “lagginess” is going to become much less of an issue once watchOS 2.0 arrives later this year.

Available to download free of charge, eBay for Apple Watch is out now on the App Store.
