Customize your TV show tracking with the newly updated iShows 2

App-dicted
July 27, 2015

Even though we’re in the dog days of summer, at least here in the United States, the new fall television season will be here sooner than you think. And we’ve got a perfect way to help you manage, discover, and keep track of all your different TV shows.

Recently updated to version 2.0, iShows 2 is now powered by the popular trakt.tv site. And along with that great improvement, TV fans should definitely enjoy the other new features in the app.

Terrific themes

Users can take advantage of a number of different customization options.

If you’re a fan of customization, than this is definitely the app for you. First up, you can select two different layouts – Poster and Fanart. Once you’ve selected your layout, the images can even be customized with a quick swipe.

Users can also select the app’s color scheme and choose from six different highlight colors or even use the tinted option to bring a new look to the UI.

But by far, my favorite option are the UI themes based on some TV shows you might have heard of like “Game of Thrones,” “The Walking Dead,” and “Breaking Bad.” Each theme can be unlocked with a $0.99 in-app purchase or you can buy all three for $1.99.

When you’re ready to start tracking, just hit the discover section to begin selecting shows.

Wrapup

A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, iShows 2 can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

With an in-app purchase of $3.99, you can keep track of an unlimited amount of television shows.

Even though I was able to try out iShow 2 for a few minutes, I enjoyed getting to use it. While I will probably stick with my favorite TVShow Timewhich recently received a big update of its own, definitely try out iShow 2. The simple gestures and the nice number of customization options definitely helps it to stand out.

It would be nice, though, if users could add more than five shows without having to make an in-app purchase.
