Google Maps lands on the Apple Watch
A new Google Maps update has just landed on the App Store. And all Apple Watch users should definitely take notice.
Version 4.11.0 of the app now supports Apple’s wearable device. With the watch app, you can see directions on your wrist. Here’s an interactive preview from our sister site WatchAware.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Google Maps can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
Maps is the second Google app to arrive for the Apple Watch. Back in May, Google News and Weather was updated with support for Apple’s wearable device.
I much prefer Google Maps to Apple’s stock solution, so I’m thrilled that the app has finally made its way to the watch.
