A Tweetbot 4 update adds 3D Touch for the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus
Just two weeks after originally hitting the App Store, Tweetbot 4 is getting even better with its first update.
The popular, and powerful, Twitter client has just made the move to version 4.0.2. And iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus owners should definitely be pleased as the app now supports the 3D Touch functionality on those handsets.
When you click on the app’s icon, you can select from a number of Quick Actions including the ability to reply to a tweet, compose a tweet, tweet your last photo, and show activity.
While using the app, users can take advantage of the Peek and Pop gestures in their timeline. Just as a reminder, a long click activates a Peek that shows a preview of the information. An even longer click will Pop open the tweet or other media.
A simple swipe back gesture will now also dismiss the built-in browser. If you’ve installed the YouTube app, video links will open up directly in that app.
The app has now also been localized for French, Spanish, and Japanese. Other language support is coming soon.
Tweetbot 4 is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for a limited-time price of $4.99. It usually costs $9.99.
The app brought a whole host of new features and improvements to the Tweetbot arsenal. Along with Safari support for links, users can also take advantage of a landscape view on the iPad, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus.
Another great feature is the Activity tab. You can view all the recent activity on your account, including new followers, mentions, retweets, favorites, and quotes.
