Minecraft: Story Mode lands on the App Store
The latest creation from Telltale is here. And this time, gamers can explore the popular world of Minecraft.
In Minecraft: Story Mode, players will drive the story through the decisions they make, including what they say to people, and how it is said along with what they choose to do in particular moments.
In the game, which was created in conjunction with Mojang, you can select to play as a male or female hero named Jesse and embark on an adventure through the Overworld. Here’s more about the game:
You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.
The stellar voice cast is led by Patton Oswalt as male Jesse and Catherine Taber as female Jesse. You’ll also hear Brian Posehn as Axel, Ashley Johnson as Petra, Scott Porter as Lukas, Martha Plimpton as Olivia, Billy West as the narrator, and Paul Reubens as Ivor.
The four “Order of the Stone” members will be voiced by Dave Fennoy as Gabriel the Warrior, Corey Feldman as Magnus the Griefer, Grey Griffin as Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, and John Hodgman as Soren the Architect.
Minecraft: Story Mode can be downloaded now on the App Store for $4.99. It’s universal and designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini.
While the app comes with the first episode, other episodes will arrive later. With an in-app purchase of $14.99, you can reserve episodes 2 through 5.
