View your photos and videos on the new Apple TV with Storehouse’s Photo Remote app

If you’re looking for a fun way of showing off the new Apple TV – officially arriving tomorrow – Storehouse has a great new app that makes viewing photos and videos on the big screen a breeze.

With the aptly named Photo Remote app, you can choose exactly what you want to see on your TV. TechCrunch got an early look and was pleased with the overall experience. Here’s more from the report:

“Users don’t really want their whole iCloud libraries being shown on the TV,” Storehouse CEO Mark Kjawano told me. This can be because of photo duplicates, screenshots and mundane images like photos of receipts that end up destroying the photo slideshow experience.

What Kawano and his team wanted to do was give everyone access to the TV feed and let them showcase their favorite pictures on the screen at a moment’s notice.

The app ties in directly with the Storehouse tvOS app for the new Apple TV. After opening up the Photo Remote app on your iPhone, you can select “New Story” on the TV app and start adding photos and videos.

Interestingly, you can even add some different filters to your photos before sending them to your TV.

Unlike the Storehouse iOS app, the Apple TV experience doesn’t include any text.

The Photo Remote app is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

If you’re interested in learning more about the iOS app, which was selected as one of our favorites of 2014, take a look at this recent walkthrough from our own Sandy Stachowiak.
