A new Hulu update brings a redesigned iPhone experience
The official Hulu iOS app has just made the jump to version 4.7.0 with a number of improvements for iPhone users.
A new lookMost importantly, the iPhone app now features a revamped look that more closely mirrors its iPad counterpart. Thankfully, the menu options have been moved from the bottom of the app’s home screen to a menu sidebar.
Perfect for parents, the Kid’s Lock feature has also arrived on the iPhone. When activated, kids can only watch age-appropriate videos. Access to other videos require a password.
WrapupThe Hulu app is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. You can subscribe via an in-app purchase.
Hulu subscribers can finally say goodbye to those annoying advertisements – if they’re willing to pay more. Back in September, the company announced a new ad-free subscription tier for $11.99 per month. That is $4 more than the other subscription option that includes numerous commercials.
If you’re not willing to shell out extra money, you can still keep the more inexpensive plan. But you can switch to the ad-free option at anytime.
Hulu apparently wants to better compete with both Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Instant Video – which are both ad-free.
Interestingly, Apple Watch users can even use the wearable device to act as a remote to control video playback and captions while watching the service on the Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Chromecast.
