Gameloft unleashes Gods of Rome on iOS
“Clash of the Titans”? That’s so 1980s (or 2010s if you consider the remake and the sequel). It’s 2015 (going on 2016 in just a couple of weeks, in fact), and what you would want to be looking at if you’re after brutal battles between deities is Gods of Rome, which has just been unleashed by Gameloft on iOS.
Ancient myths and legendsAs teased by Gameloft earlier this month, Gods of Rome is an epic fighting game based on the rich lode of interest and intrigue that is classical mythology. It’s reminiscent of Warner Bros.’ Injustice: Gods Among Us and Kabam’s Marvel Contest of Champions, except it features mythical gods, titans, monsters, and heroes rather than comic superheroes.

In the game, you get to see the likes of Spartacus, Atlas, Zeus, Hades, Vulcan, and Medusa engaged in clashes across various legendary locations of the ancient world. “A pantheon of champions is yours to train to new heights as you enter an epic story full of daily challenges, mystic prizes and PvP combat,” Gameloft notes.
Modern graphics and controlsGods of Rome boasts mobile-optimized features that are, in a manner of speaking, worthy of the gods. For one thing, the game unfolds through stunning 3-D graphics that can turn combat sessions into visceral experiences. The game also incorporates intuitive tap and swipe controls.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 8.0 or later, Gods of Rome is available on the App Store as a free-to-play game.
Gods of Rome is not the only big release to come out of Gameloft over the past few hours. The studio has also just pushed a huge update to hit its flagship racing game, Asphalt 8: Airborne, including new cards, a new location, a new game mode, new 3D Touch controls, and holiday-themed tracks.
