Have a Festive Fantasy this holiday season with Final Fantasy Record Keeper
Are you a fan of Final Fantasy Record Keeper? Then you’ll be delighted to learn of what’s in store in the game this holiday season.
Memorable
Released on iOS by DeNA in March, Final Fantasy Record Keeper is a free-to-play iOS game that features remixes of memorable battles from Square Enix’s hugely popular Final Fantasy series of Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs).
The game stars Deci, a worker in Dr. Mog’s history department who dives into paintings to enter the 16-bit worlds of past Final Fantasy games, where various characters can be unlocked and mixed and matched for deployment in battles.
In our review, the game is noted as being “just nostalgia wrapped up for Final Fantasy fans” and as “a must-have.” It comes highly recommended “if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy, old or new, or just enjoy JRPGs.”

Revamped
Through its latest update, Final Fantasy Record Keeper has gained a handful of notable improvements. These include a redesigned home screen, a new progress map where new characters can be recruited, enhanced inventory management, a new library that gives background information on and artwork of the characters, and other tweaks. Also a change worth noting is that new characters based on some of the best moments from the Final Fantasy are going to be available in the realm dungeons.
Eventful
Final Fantasy Record Keeper also promises to be rather eventful through the rest of December, what with not one, but two global in-game events.
First, there’s the limited-time event called Blood Madness. Running from Dec. 14 through Dec. 24, Blood Madness sees the return of Sephiroth, who can be recruited during the event along with Reno. Sephiroth’s Memory Crystal II is offered as a reward, and two Relic Draws are made available during the event.
Second, there’s the Festive Fantasy, which begins on Dec. 16 and ends on Jan. 1. “To ring in the season, the title screen will be decked out with holiday cheer and festive original music will greet players when they log in,” DeNA notes. “Veterans and new players alike will be able to earn tons of in-game items and experience to strengthen their party.” In particular, be sure to log in during the event to receive a gift in the form of a holiday-exclusive five-star item on Dec. 25.
