Telltale launches Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 4 on the App Store
Right before the iTunes doors close for the holidays, Telltale Games has squeezed a new episode for its popular iOS app, Minecraft: Story Mode, into the App Store. You can download the fourth episode in the game series right now, and as usual it carries an IAP price of $4.99.
Their toughest challenge yet
This marks the fourth out of Minecraft: Story Mode's five-part episodic series: already, we've seen episodes two and three of the game series launch on the App Store. This time around, however, iOS gamers will find the Wither Storm "more dangerous than ever," and Jesse, Reuben, and the crew are facing their toughest challenge yet. Concerning the new episode, Telltale explained:
In Episode Four, with the fearsome Wither Storm more dangerous than ever, Jesse, Reuben, and the crew discover there is one thing that can destroy the command block at the heart of the monster – but they'll need to brave the perils of the Farlands to find it. As uneasy allies and ailing friends threaten to tear the group apart, can they defeat the Wither Storm in their final battle? And what sacrifices must be made to succeed?
As you'd expect from a Telltale title, Minecraft: Story Mode is a point-and-click adventure; as its name suggests, the app is indeed based on Mojang's popular sandbox survival game, Minecraft. (Though, for an authentic Minecraft experience on iOS, iPhone and iPad owners should download Minecraft: Pocket Edition, rather than Telltale's application.)
In this five part episodic series, you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, you and your friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.
Already, Telltale has a number of popular point-and-click games available on the App Store: Walking Dead: The Game and Game of Thrones are perhaps the most successful of Telltale's apps.
In these games, as well as in Minecraft: Story Mode, the choices iOS device owners make have a direct impact on the outcome of the story. For a closer look at the fourth episode in the game series, check out the below trailer:
