Yahoo launches a Video Guide app to make it easier for cord cutters
Yahoo has been busy introducing a brand new app aimed at cord cutters and updating the official Tumblr app.
Stop searching
First up, Yahoo Video Guide is designed to help solve a familiar problem to anyone who relies on different streaming video services – where can I find a certain movie or TV show?
The app allows users to search more than 30 different services to find exactly what they’re looking for. Some big names include HBO, Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu.
When you find what you’re looking for, just select the Stream Now button, and you’ll be redirected to the correct app to start watching.
If you can’t decide what to watch, the app’s Mood Picker will showcase a number of fun GIFs. Select the one that matches your mood, and it will recommend specific TV shows and movies.
Yahoo Video Guide is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
Ready for the latest iPhones
The popular Tumblr app has also been updated with a number of improvements sure to make any iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus owner happy.
Version 5.0 allows users to share Live Photos to the blogging service. When you’re ready to compose a post, you’ll recognize any Live Photo thanks to the usual icon. Anyone with an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus can also view other Live Photos shared on the service with a simple 3D Touch. Other iOS device users can tap and hold a Live Photo to see it come to life.
With a 3D Touch on the app’s icon, you can now also quickly access the search functionality.
Finally, all users can send any post as a message by selecting the paper airplane icon.
Tumblr is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models. It’s available to download on the App Store now for free.
