Amazon Cloud Drive integration, 3D Touch support and more come to nPlayer
The popular media player app nPlayer has just received a significant update on iOS, thereby gaining a number of notable features and enhancements.
All-in player
Launched in July 2012, nPlayer is a great alternative to the likes of VLC and Infuse.
With its non-encoding and conversion-free playback, you need not worry about the formats of the media you want to play in the app, as it supports: MP4, MKV, TP, MOV, AVI, WMV, ASF, FLV, OGV, RMVB, and more for video files; MP3, WAV, WMA, FLAC, APE, and more for audio files; and DTS (DTS HD) and Dolby (AC3, E-AC3) codecs.
The app also lets you watch and download videos on the Web using its built-in Web browser. Moreover, you can connect the app wirelessly to Chromecast or a smart TV to watch on a bigger screen.
Amazon Cloud Drive integration
Cloud sync is also included in nPlayer’s impressive feature set. This allows you to connect the app to your preferred cloud storage services and does away with the need to store files in your device, especially if it has limited space. In addition to various servers, nPlayer can be linked with Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Yandex.Disk, and now, Amazon Cloud Drive.
Just go to the app’s Network tab, tap the plus button, tap Amazon Cloud Drive, and sign in to your Amazon account to start accessing your Amazon Cloud Drive files on nPlayer.
3D Touch support
The latest update to nPlayer also adds support for 3D Touch on iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus. This allows you to access your recently played items right from the home screen of your device by pressing hard on the app’s icon, and to Peek and Pop items within the app.
More features
The new version of nPlayer also introduces support for SUP, MPL2 and TXT subtitles, in addition to its already existing support for SMI, SRT, SSA, IDX, SUB and LRC formats.
