7 great car mounts for your iPhone 6s/6 or iPhone 6s/6 Plus
The iPhone is tailor made to be a great car companion for any trip – no matter how long you have to travel. Along with providing GPS directions, it can act as a music player, and much more. A car mount is a perfect way to help keep your iPhone visible and steady so you can focus on driving. Here are seven great options to take a look at.
Kenu Airframe+, $29.90Able to hold up to an iPhone 6s/6 Plus, Kenu’s Airframe+ is a lightweight and easy-to-use air vent mount. Thanks to the spring-loaded jaw, pretty much any iPhone will fit in a snap. The rotating clips are also compatible with most types of air vents. Weighing less than an ounce, it can also be used as a travel stand for your phone – simply insert any card from your wallet into the rotating clip. You can select from a black or white version.
Spigen Style Ring and Car Mount, $12.99This interesting minimalistic device from Spigen can act as a kickstand, car mount, and more secure way to hold any iPhone. It can stick to the back of any device or case as long as it’s not curved, leather, or sporting a matte finish. Putting your finger through the loop helps give you a more secure grip. It can also flip out to act as a kickstand for watching videos and more. The included car mount attaches to the dashboard, and since the ring can flip a full 180 degrees and rotate a full 360 degrees, it can place your iPhone in a number of different orientations while driving.
Buyers can select from a rose gold, black, or white version. If you’re interested in learning more about the ring, our own Karen Freeman reviewed the device back in 2015 and gave the system high marks.
ZeroChroma VarioProtect Case and Vehicle Mount, $44.90A great combination, ZeroChroma’s VarioProtect case features a built-in stand that can rotate a full 360 degrees, which is perfect to place your iPhone in any number of angles. The body of the case is made with scratch-resistant and anti-slip material. The mount itself, which attaches to an air vent, is easy to install with a pull-on and pull-off design. Simply deploy the case’s stand and insert it into the mount.
You can select from a number of color choices for the iPhone 6s/6 or iPhone 6s/6 Plus case. The mount is only available in black.
Fuse Chicken Bobine Auto, $39.95A flexible way to dock your iPhone in the car, Fuse Chicken’s Bobine Auto is made from a 2-foot long Lightning cable featuring a nickel-plated and rugged exterior. Compatible with most cases, it can plug into any USB port and also act as a charger. Two dash stabilizer clips are included to help flex the dock into a perfect position.
TechMatte MagGrip CD Slot Mount Holder, $10.99A great way to make use of that old CD player in your car, TechMatte’s mount inserts directly into the disc slot. Just select your perfect viewing angle and tighten the lug and you’ll be ready to go. The included metal plate can be placed onto any phone case or the handset itself. The magnetic connection is strong and secure, and since it doesn’t require a cradle, you’ll be able to easily view your iPhone’s screen.
Buyers can select from a blue, black, or red version.
Belkin Car Cup Holder Mount, $34.99As the name suggests, Belkin’s car mount turns any free cup holder into a safe and secure place for your iPhone. The base can expand to fit any size of cup holder with no suction or adhesive needed. Once in the dock, your iPhone can rotate 360 degrees for both a landscape or portrait view while in the car. It can also tilt 90 degrees to lay the phone completely flat. Built-in cable management allows users to easily charge their phone without getting tangled.
Ram Mount Twist Lock Suction Cup Mount with Universal X-Grip, $50.49A nice windshield mount option, Ram Mount’s socket technology allows users to adjust their phone for a great viewing angle. A spring-loaded holder will expand and contract to fit any size of phone – including an iPhone 6s/6 Plus. The rubber tips will also hold your phone firm and stable while driving. It’s also backed by a lifetime warranty. While this option is the most costly on the list, it’s my personal favorite and definitely worth the extra cost as it has withstood the test of time in my vehicle.
