Apple Pay now supported by more than 30 new financial institutions in the United States

The roster of financial institutions supporting Apple Pay in the United States continues to grow. Apple recently added more than 30 new names to the comprehensive list on its site. All total, almost 1,000 banks and financial institutions now support the mobile payment system.

Here’s the complete list. As you can tell, it’s mostly smaller regional banks and credit unions.

Restaurants and retailers also hoping on the bandwagon

There are more than 1,850 Chick-fil-A location across the United States.

Just yesterday, Apple announced that more than 2 million retail locations accept the payment system. And first reported by The Business Times, Chick-fil-A, Crate & Barrel, and Au Bon Pain are currently rolling out Apple Pay support.

Along with the United States, Apple Pay is available to users in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Currently, in Canada and Australia only American Express cards can be used.

Late last year, Apple announced a partnership with China UnionPay to bring Apple Pay to the country sometime early this year. Making the move into the extremely important China market should definitely help to grow the system.

Starbucks and other food establishments like KFC and Chili’s will support Apple Pay sometime in 2016. Cinnabon and Domino’s will also support the service soon.
