Netflix update arrives with iPad Pro optimization, 3D Touch support and more
The popular Netflix app has just made the move to version 8.0 with a number of new features for both iPhone and iPad users.
Ready for the Pro
More than three months after the iPad Pro hit the market, the app now offers an optimized layout for the larger and higher resolution tablet. That means all of the content will appear crisp and clear on the screen. Unfortunately, the app still doesn’t support other handy iOS 9 multitasking features on the iPad including Picture in Picture or Split View.
All iPhone users can now take advantage of a new post-play experience after watching a TV show or movie. After viewing a movie, the app will recommend other titles you might want to see. With a TV series, the next episode will automatically begin to play.
And iPhone 6s/6s Plus users will now be happy to access 3D Touch support inside the app. When browsing content, you can Peek inside to take a quick look at more information, play, view more details, add/or remove it from your list, or share. A longer press will Pop it into the fullscreen.
Wrap-up
Netflix is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, all iPad models, and the Apple TV. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Subscriptions start at $7.99 per month.
