► Limitations

This app is not suited for applications where very exact ruler measurements are needed, e.g. in construction or architecture. Do not use it where exact length, distance, height or width measurement are required. In such cases please use a traditional tape measure or ruler! It is however perfect for good estimates of room size, furniture size, picture size, building size measurement etc.

'Camera Measure' is an innovative ruler app that allows to use markers seen in the camera view for measuring sizes. It is capable of measuring height, width and distance of planar areas, such as pictures, walls, hoardings and so on. It's a kind of optical virtual ruler intend for situations where a standard scale is not sufficient. The results are immediately shown in the display and can easily be sent by email. Along with the result images other information about the measurement is added, such as GPS location, date, time, device information and user information. Please note that the measurements are restricted to rectangular and plain areas.

[Operating Method]
1. Align iOS device at the beginning of object whatever you want to measure, tap the top button to select a unit, tap START button.
2. Continue flipping the device from one end of the object to the other. Rotate device carefully, don’t slip.
3. Reaching the end, align the top front-facing edge with the end of the object.
4. Tap STOP button，or keep the device still for 5 second, the measurement will stop automatically, and the App will vibrate and speak the result to you.

[Attention]
1. The app just design for the horizontal distances’s measurement.
2. You must flip the iOS device vertically.
3. Rotate your device carefully, don’t slip.
4. Please keep the straight line direction.
5. It’s very unlikely that the object is evenly divisible by your device’s height. So, when you reach the end, align the top front-facing edge with the end of end of the object.If there’s nothing vertical to lean the device on, use your best judgment.
6. Although there is a “finish” button, it’s not always accessible, and sometimes you need to focus on keeping the device at the proper angle. If you can’t tap the “finish” button (not always accessible), just keep the device still for 5 second, the measurement will stop automatically, and the App will vibrate and speak the result to you.

Measure Tape can be used to estimate the measurements of furnitures, houses, interior structures, and buildings. Measure Tape is a must-have tool for home renovation contractor and DIY persons, interior and exterior designers, real estate agents, and travellers.

MegaTape uses GPS to measure distances. It is a tape measure and a trip-meter.
It measures distances larger than 100 ft / 30m with good accuracy and uses metric or imperial units.

When you use the odometer, you can hold it in your hand or chest pocket or back pocket. This is an advantage compared to a pedometer, whose accuracy depends much on where they are placed on the body. Pedometer sensitivity must also be set in order for it to work at all. GPS meters, like this one, only require a good GPS reception. This means that they work well outdoors, everywhere except in tunnels and caves.

MegaTape works on iPhones and iPads with GPS receivers. It supports both portrait and landscape screen modes on the iPad.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Here is a list of use cases for this app.
Tape measure:
- You are out walking with your children and you want to see how fast they can run 100 meters. You start this app on your iPhone and measure 100 meters. Then you use the iPhone's stopwatch to time the runs.
- You want to measure the distance from where you stand, along a straight line to an object. The object may be obscured completely by a building.
- You want to measure the length of a boundary.

Odometer:
- You want to measure walking distance to school and how long it takes.
- You want to measure how far you've cycled and how long it took.
- You want to measure the exercise track's actual length.

This app together with the GPS receiver in your iPhone / iPad is ideal for these measurements.

Other use cases:
- You want to measure the width of a river or lake. Put MegaTape in tape measure mode and wait for good GPS reception. Start measuring and sit in the car. Drive over the bridge that is perhaps a kilometer away and drive to the other side of the river, and read the measuring tape.
- You want to measure the amount of fishing line on your reel. Put the reel in neutral, put the app in tape measure mode and wait for good GPS reception, grab the line and go.
- You want to measure your walkie-talkie's range in the area. Put the app in tape measure mode and wait for good GPS reception. Start measuring while holding contact with someone with the other walkie-talkie, until it disappears in the noise, and then read the tape measure.


There have been negative reviews we'd like to comment on. One review says it's "hopelessly inaccurate". This is not correct. Please remember that it's very important to wait for good GPS reception and THEN to start measuring. Do as follows:
1) Wait for good GPS reception. You'll see the indicator in the top right corner turn green when reception is good.
2) Press the Reset-button to zero the distance indicator.
