1Password 6.5 Arrives With a Native Apple Watch App and More
AgileBits has just released an update to its popular, and powerful, password manager. 1Password 6.5 offers a number of new features including a completely native Apple Watch app, a better experience for first-time users, and other improvements.
Multiple item support
The native watch app can support items from any vault.
The biggest change is for Apple Watch users. The app on the wearable device runs natively on the watch and should run faster. You’ll also be able to add items to the watch version from any vault, which is a big plus for accessing private information quickly and easily.
Getting started on a new device is now also easier.
Finally, users can now select, move, and copy multiple items. That will make it much easier to move information between vaults.
Wrap-up
You can downloaded 1Password 6.5 now on the App Store for free. It’s designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models.
The Pro feature set unlocks a number of other features including additional categories, multiple vaults, personalization options, and more. Just to note, you will need the Pro features to use the app on an Apple Watch.
A Mac app can also be downloaded now directly from the Mac App Store for $64.99.
Alternatively, you can also take advantage of two different subscriptions from AgileBits. For a single subscriber, $2.99 per month can open access to all of the 1Password apps on Mac, iOS, Windows, and Android. A family subscription, which can include up to five people, is $5 monthly.
Starting with version 6.5 of the app, you can sign-up for a monthly subscription using an in-app purchase and not have to go through the 1Password site.
I’ve been a user of 1Password for a few years, and highly recommend the suite. The apps are easy to use, well-designed, and can add a much-needed layer of security to your online life.
