You Can Now Save Instagram Posts to View Later
Say goodbye to taking screenshots of photos and copying links to videos that you’d like to view later on Instagram. An update to the popular photo and video sharing app has begun rolling out to enable users to save Instagram posts.
Not to be confused with the feature that lets you save drafts of your Instagram posts (which was added to the app in September), this new feature lets you save Instagram posts, whether they’re photos or videos posted by you or by others (especially by others).
How to save Instagram posts
To save Instagram posts, you simply have to tap the new bookmark icon underneath each post.
You can save Instragam posts from the Home tab (meaning posts from accounts you follow, including private ones), from the Explore tab (including search results), from the Activity tab (both Following and You sections), and from the Profile tab (that is, your own posts).
In any case, when you save Instagram posts, the owners of the posts are by no means notified that you’ve done so. (Don’t worry, your crush won’t know you’ve been saving all of his or her selfies.)
How to view saved Instagram posts
Now that you can save Instagram posts, there should be one place where you can see all of them. And there is, of course.
To view your saved Instagram posts, just go to the Profile tab and tap the new bookmark icon. You’ll then be taken to the new Saved section, containing all of the photos and videos that you’ve saved.
Note that the Saved section is a private section, that is, your saved Instagram posts are visible only to you.
If there’s a post that you’d like to remove from your saved items, just tap the bookmark icon below it and it will duly disappear from the Saved section.
The ability to save Instagram posts, which is now being rolled out, offers a great way to collect photos and videos shared on the network for whatever purpose, whether it’s to gather your dream travel destinations or build a wish list of your most wanted special editions of books. So be sure to download or update to the latest version of Instagram for iOS to be able to save Instagram posts.
