20 Great Apps for Apple Vision Pro
It’s finally here. Originally unveiled at WWDC 2023, Apple Vision Pro is now available.
While Apple has already previewed some of the great entertainment experiences, there are many others apps available natively on the device.
To help you get started with the headset, here are 20 great apps you should download now.
Crouton
Get to cooking with Crouton and Vision Pro. The powerful recipe manager is ready to go for the headset. With the size guide, you can visualize the size of a dish in its true size. Using a meal planning card stack, swipe left and right through meals to add them to the schedule for the week. And with the unique cooking mode, you can place timers around your kitchen while you cook. That’s not recommended for around hot equipment, but could come in handy while baking.
The app is a free download and also for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. An optional subscription unlocks all of Crouton’s features.
Juno for YouTube
YouTube fans rejoice. While there’s no official YouTube app avaialble for the headset, Juno provides a great way to watch content from the video giant.
The great video player offers native controls for interacting with the video. You can resize the content to create a home theater experience so you can reposition the player and dim the room around the video. Other features include aspect ratio detection and the ability to increase/decrease speed and toggle captions.
The app is a $4.99 download.
Focus - Productivity Timer
Stay on task when using Focus on Apple Vision Pro. The app features a number of Pomodoro time management features. With those, you can manage tasks, start a Focus timer, and track your focused worked progress in stats. A Focus timer window can be detached from the main app. You can then arrange a single or multiple timers in your field of view while getting more work done.
On Vision Pro, the app will be free for the first year. The other versions require a subscription for most features.
Focus is also for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
CARROT Weather
The snarky world of CARROT Weather will also be available on the Vision Pro. One of the best features is a 3D weather map that will allow you to explore weather patterns in a unique way. The globe will show precipitation, wind, and temperature anywhere in the world. A CARROT ornament will allow you to play mini games and interact with the A.I. character.
The app is a free download, but there are a number of subscription options to unlock additional features. It’s also available on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
Encyclopedia GalacticAR
Explore the vast universe right from a Vision Pro with Encyclopedia GalacticAR. You can learn about everything from small comets to our solar system and galaxy clusters. See what you’ve learned with a quiz with 300 astronomy questions with various difficulty levels. With the app, you can explore different objects across the universe with 3D models and scenes. Along with a solar system simulation, you can view a scale of stars, and a number of galaxies.
The $4.99 app is also available on the iPhone and iPad.
Zoom
Video work calls will take on a different feel with zoom for Vision Pro.
The popular video conferencing app is compatible with the headset’s Personas so you can be represented by an authentic spatial representation with facial and hand movements. It also uses Spatial zoom to create an immersive experience that can be scaled to whatever size you’d like.
Available later this spring, users will be able to share 3D objects and chat with team members.

Runestone
A multipurpose text editor, Rhinestone provides a great way to get real work done on the Vision Pro. You can read a simple text file, Markdown document, or editing complex code. The app supports more than 25 different programming languages. It supports additional features like Syntax highlighting, line numbers, find and replace, a page guide, and custom themes.
Runestone is a free download. An optional, $9.99 in-app purchase will unlock all of the features. It’s also available on the iPhone and iPad.
Spatial Symphony
Step up to the conductor podium and enter a world where you can create, manipulate, and explore sound. Featuring music synthesis controlled by your hands, you become the true conductor of an audio masterpieces. To begin, select a preset like a Theremin, Lazer, or 8-bit. Then you can start sculpting the music just using your hands. Pinch one hand to adjust pitch and the other to adjust volume.
You can then go further to customize with other options like waveform and much more.

Study Snacks
Study Snacks provides a spatial studying experience. It brings the idea of flashcards into the modern age. You can create a study list, like states and capitals. The app will then split the words into pieces and then you will try tp p[ut them back together. On the Vision Pro, all of the letter bubbles are floating around you.
The app is a free download but a subscription is needed to unlock all of the app’s features. It’s also available on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
Zenitizer
Meditation takes on a new shape with Zenitizer on the Vision Pro. The distraction-free meditation features a number of built-in environments to select from to meditate. All of your routines from the iPhone or iPad version will also be available to use on the headset. Meditations will also be synced to Apple Health.
The app is a free download but you will need a subscription to make use of all the features.
Tasks
Another way to help you get work done on the headset in Tasks. Unlike other apps, Tasks offers other options than to-do and done. You can track when you’re doing something and add tags to better understand your needs. Items can be selected as in testing, in progress, on hold, and more.
The free app is also available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. An optional subscription will unlock all of the app’s features.
Chronicling
Chronicling can track almost anything imaginable, anything from coffee intake to moods and much more. You can now track activities on the Vision Pro. A unique feature only on the headset is the ability to widget-like windows for each category around your space. For example, you can place a widget over your plant showing the last time it was watered.
The free app is also for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. An optional subscription is needed to unlock all of the app’s features.
Moon Home: Spatial Portal
Use AI to create any world you can imagine and then step inside with Moon Home: Spatial Portal. First, you can select a portal like the Tardis from Doctor Who. Then, using the Vision Pro keyboard, type in a unique world come to life. There are also a number of environments to choose from created by artists.

NowPlaying
Music discovery is made easy with NowPlaying on Vision Pro. One of the best features is a SongDiplay. Place the window in your environment and always know what’s playing thanks to Shazam. Identified music and also be quickly added to your Apple Music library.
Along with telling you what’s playing, you can see much more information about songs, albums, and artists. You can also experience life-size 3D models of music awards in the app.

Sunlitt
Enjoy viewing the movements of the sun with Sunlitt. On the Apple Vision Pro, you can explore the exact location and path of the sun across the world. In the app’s immersive environment, you can see how the sun will move around your location or famous landmarks. You can also see precise times like golden hour and even real-time weather.
The app is free and also for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. You’ll need an optional subscription to use most of the app’s features.
Soul Spire
And the Vision Pro is more than an entertainment or work device. There are a number of games to enjoy. Soul Spire provides a unique spatial puzzle. You’ll be taken with liberating friendly ghosts from a spire of color-shifting cubes.

Neon Trip - Music Visualizer
Dive into a world of music and neon with Neon Trip. To begin, you’ll choose your soundtrack from a selection of internet radio stations offering retro, synth wave, or chill out music. Then you can explore the world of minimalist neon grid landscapes while enjoying the tunes.

Knot Explorer
Knot Explorer shows off some of the real power of the Vision Pro. As you might have guessed, the app is aloo about visualizing and manipulating topological knots. With the app, you can view a wide variety of knots with up to 8 crossing. Each of those can be viewed in 3D, rotated in space, and even manipulated or deformed.

Clocks by World Clock Widgets
Surprisingly, there’s is no stock Clock app on the Vision Pro. But Clocks by World Clock Widgets definitely fills that void.
With the app, you can create an unlimited amount of widget windows around your environment. You can choose from analog or digital clocks with options to display seconds and a 24-hour time. There is also a world clock widget. Search or browse the time of more than 10,000 cities.

PhotoShade
Enjoy your photos in a new way with PhotoShade on Vision Pro. The app allows you to search your Photo Library by color. You can scroll horizontally to browse different colors in a continuous cylinder. The results on-screen will update live as you select a color. You can choose to see the best matching photo or the most recent.
PhotoShade is also for the iPhone and iPad. It’s a free download. An optional subscription unlocks the ability to search within specific albums or most recent.
