Designed by ex-Apple engineers, Duet Display is a great way to turn a free iOS device into a second screen for your laptop or desktop computer.

Instead of other apps that depend on Wi-Fi that can sometimes be problematic, you’ll need connect an iPad or iPhone using a Lightning or 30-pin cable. That helps provide a rock solid, virtually lag-free connection.

And with a recent update, the app has gained an interesting feature for anyone who subscribes to the new Duet Pro package – which costs $20 per year. Along with other future upgrades, the main draw is the ability to use a 9.7-inch or 12.9-inch iPad Pro and Apple Pencil as a Wacom-like professional graphics tablet.

Users can draw on their iPad screen and the results can be seen on a companion Mac or PC. You can use a number of popular titles including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchbook, Manga, and Toonboom.
