Adobe Lightroom Update Brings Direct Photo Import, Advanced Export Options

December 10, 2019

Adobe Lightroom for both iOS and iPadOS has been updated with a number of advanced features for photographers.

The biggest addition is the ability to directly import images into an iPhone or iPad with iOS 13.2 or later. You can import images from an SD card or other media into the app. That gives photographers more flexibility in editing and storing their images without needing a laptop.

Another addition is a number of advanced export options. You can control the characteristics of the export including file type, pixel dimensions, compression watermark, file name, and more. Those options are located under the share icon. It’s now also possible to export multiple files in their original file type.

You can now also add photos to a shared file that you have access to, even without a paid membership.

Both Adobe Lightroom for iPad and Adobe Lightroom Photo Editor for iOS can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Some features are available in the free version, but most require a subscription of $4.99 per month.
