The Apple Car lives. Apple has just received a permit from the State of California to test self-driving, autonomous cars on roads in the state.
Back from the dead
The new development goes against a report in late 2016 that said Apple’s so-called Project Titan was shifting focus to on software for vehicles.
Receiving a permit from the state requires a number of steps and does signal that Apple is serious about producing its own car, something that’s been rumored since 2014.
But more than likely it will be many years before Apple’s researching and testing ever produces a mass-market product.
