An Apple Pencil 2 Could Arrive in March Along with New iPads
Along with updated iPad Pro models, we could be seeing an Apple Pencil 2 hit the market as early as March. That’s according to an interesting new rumor from the Asian supply chain (via MacRumors).
Perfect for a new iPad Pro?
The current generation device works with both iPad Pro models.
Information about exactly what upgrades the next-generation device might offer has been sparse.
The only hint so far was a report in August. According to Bloomberg, the next version of the stylus could allow users to use a Pencil to annotate across iOS and in a number of different stock apps like Mail, Safari, and iMessage. With the current-generation Pencil, an app must be updated to support the accessory.
Originally arriving with the original 12.9-inch iPad Pro in November 2015, the Apple Pencil work with both Pro models. It is pressure sensitive and sports two different tilt sensors to calculate the exact orientation and angle of a user’s hand.
